Dogue de Bodeaux information and more

We are licensed and inspected by the state of GA. Our dogs do not live in Kennels. All my dogs are crate trained from puppyhood.  They are all first and foremost house pets. They all sleep inside in their crates at night and are all turned free to roam together during the day without fighting.                                This is my number one asked question.  How do all your dogs live together without fighting?  You must train your puppy from the moment they come home. All my dogs know I am boss are trained and well socalized. They will respect me, each other, and visitors invited in our home. If a dog is allowed to be boss then a human will not be respected and will not have control over their dog. Please watch Ceasar Millan (the dog whisperer) Dog psychology is more important than obedience. Although, I have never had a dog that wouldn't do obedience for me once I had earned their respect. I interact with all my dogs daily. This is not a breed that can be put in a back yard and forgotten.

I am very selective and only breed occasionally. I want my dogs to go to great pet homes. Someone who gets a puppy from me can trust I am doing what I can to assure a happy and healthy puppy.  I want your Bordeaux to be a part of your family for a long time. A Bordeaux has a short enough life span (generally around 7 to 10 years) without doing all we can as a breeder to make sure we use healthy parents.

No matter what any breeder says not all puppies are perfect. Not all children that are born are perfect. It is sometimes hard. I feel they are not disposable, just like children are not disposable. I will take back any puppy I have breed for its entire lifetime.

I have had a way with animals since I was a child dogs especially. I was a shy child and my animals where always my best friends. I grew up with a pony and a Saint Bernard. Dogs that seem agressive with other people seem to respect me. I have always felt since I was a child this was my gift. My dad still tells me those dogs are going to eat you some day. I have never been affraid of a dog. I was at a local shelter a couple months ago helping a friend find a dog. I saw two Rottweillers in a kennel marked viscous dogs. I stood in front of their kennel..... I put them both in a sit and my friend walked by......these two dogs went nuts as if you flipped a switch. I corrected them for their being bad and put them back in a sit.  I wish people would see you control how a dog responds by your feelings.  I asked my friend what she felt as she passed these two dogs. She said "scared to death". She said "I have been in here once and those dogs tried to get me". Now these dogs were in a strong enclosed kennel. No way they could get to her yet she was affraid. They sensed her weakness and lack of confidence. You can only be fake with people you can not lie to a dog. My lesson here is be self aware when choosing a puppy. If you are a push over and your kids do not mind....you can not control an alpha dog of any breed.

Below is my Angel Babee. She is spoiled and been my best buddy on the farm for years. She wants to be with me all the time, but that doesn't mean she always wants to please. She is an alpha female with a perfect temperament and great looks and conformation. She is a wonderful teacher to all my dogs and is always quick to correct them when they are wrong. She has taught me so much about the breed and has inspired me to learn so much about health and nutrition for all my dogs.

Picture of my Babygirl and her babies at 3 days. She was had the pups March 2008. We found some wonderful pet homes for all our puppies. My goal is to provide people who love this wonderful breed a dog nice enough to be in the show ring.....healthy enough to live as long as possible......that will enjoy many years with their new families. I want families that will be as loyal as a Bordeaux is to it's family.

I have never in my life been without a dog. I thank my parents for teaching me to respect animals from childhood.  They also allowed me to bring home every stray animal I found and helped me nurture my abilities with animals. I also place my puppies by temperament. A Dogue de Bordeaux is not the dog for everyone, but I do believe everyone needs a dog.  I had a guy call about my puppies and he asked was this breed up for long bike rides.  He lived in an apartment and rode a bicycle around town for exercise.  I had to tell him no. I told him to go to a shelter and find a great dog with a ton of energy.  That would be the perfect dog for him his lifstyle. Now.... I know some Bordeauxs are more active than others, but we live in the south it is hot in the summer. A long bike run during July in Atlanta Georgia on the pavement could kill a Bordeaux. My dogs do not like summers here and stay inside most of the time.                                                                                                          If you are wanting a dog do research and do not be spontaneous this is not the time. Concider your lifestyle and what you are looking for before getting a dog of any breed.

This beautiful female is from the Kennel Masion de leeuw in South Africa. Big thanks to Wayne Stainforth for allowing me to have this girl in my life. She is the happiest dog. She skips around with a smile on her face all the time. Perfect bordeaux attitude. She adds joy to my life daily.

Another picture of my sweet babygirl from South Africa. I really love this dog she has yet to meet a stranger and is happy 24/7.  I want to send a special thanks to Wayne Stainforth who not only sold me this beautiful bitch......he always takes the time to answer my questions.

This is a wonderful breed of dog. If you have any questions or want to talk send me and email. I have had experience with people on the forums who were cruel, mean, and critical of others. I do not understand why others do not share information and try and make things better for the breed. Dogs along with horses are a large part of my life. I could not imagine my life without them.....they have made me a better person.

We only have puppies occasionally. If you are interested in a puppy give us a call or email. We have some of the best bloodlines and breed healthy happy dogs. I have been involved in the breed for 9 years.

If you are considering a pet.......please adopt a rescue through our breed club at the DDBSA. (Dogue De Bordeaux Society of America)

I have worked with my dogs and done extensive research for years to help assure better health. If you need help or want to talk Bordeauxs give me a call or email. I have learned a lot over the years and may be able to help you with your problems. Even if you bought a dog from someone else and need help call with a problem. I also know not all breeders are created equal and have help several people who bought puppies from other breeders..... who would not help them when a problem arose with a puppy. When your puppy is sick it is very emotionally draining to keep trying different things and nothing is making them better.  I have found several supplements that work well. I have not gotten good responses using conventional medicine at times on Bordeauxs. Please do your homework. There are some great holistic supplements to help with your dog's needs.
