Snickers is a beautiful filly. I purchased her from Black Forest Gypsy Horses. She and Gem were born in the same pasture and then flew over together.

Snickers has been sold to the Odom family from Marrietta. I had no intention on selling her, but I was visited by this wonderful couple who really love their animals. I sent them to someone else to buy a gyspy horse. On the day they had visited I had the doctors from UGA out to my farm to  inseminate Bella and Snickers with Jimbo sperm. Well the weather did not cooperated and we had two weeks of over 100 degree weather. In the North Georgia Mountains this is not common. Well the doctors came back and Snickers and Bella both were pregnant and lost the babies due to the heat. This was with them staying in the barn during the day and being wet down during the hottest time of the day. Well in the meantime the family called me back and the horse they were to buy did not pass a full health exam. This wonderful lady wanted Snickers for a trail horse. She did not want to breed. For those of you who have ever breed animals of any kind you can't do any better than a great pet home. This was in my eyes the perfect situation for any horse. Her husband rides a large well trained Warmblood in which he does dressage. With Snickers not being pregnant and knowing she would be happier with her own person.  We started the vet exam process. I have had Snickers since she was a baby and had taken great care to keep her healthy. I raised all of the babies on a hilly pasture to help keep their muscles built up and take weight off their joints as they grew. Well she checked out perfect. This made me very proud of all the work I had put into her as a filly. It also made me very sad that she would be leaving. She stayed with me a few weeks waiting on an opening with a very good local trainer. When he was ready for Snickers the owner came over and we took her to his farm to train in being a trail horse. I had started her some. She had been saddle and I had ridden her a couple times. She had a lot of ground work and manners. I had taken things really slow to make sure all my fillies were mature enough before a lot of work. The health exam with full x-rays let me know I was doing the right thing. I was very proud of how well she acted and of how healthy she was when I left her with the new owner and trainer.  As I drove away from her that day I glanced back in my truck mirror to she her running toward my truck and whinning as loud as she could for me. She has no idea why I was leaving her at this strange place. I cried everyday for two or three weeks after........this was one of the hardest things I have ever done. I know she is happy and it didn't take her long to bond with her new owner. Her training went well....the trainer was really impressed with how smart she was and how quick she was to learn. This was the trainers first experience with a gypsy.  Snickers had turned 4 years old this year and now has a wonderful new mom and a pampered life she so deserves.

Much thanks to the Odom family for seeing the beauty and grace that I did in this beautiful young filly, but mostly thanks for giving her such a wonderful life.

Snickers running to me in the pasture. I love to watch her hair in the wind. She is breath taking.

Snickers has been started under saddle and is doing well.  She has been ridden several times with no problems. She is a very loving horse and enjoys playing games and working.

Snickers cantering in the round pen. She is progressing quickly with her training.

Snickers is a fun horse. She enjoys working and is very smart.

She enjoys being scratched and groomed. With Gypsy horses you better enjoy grooming.  She has a long mane and tons of feather.
